New Zealand has Launched the Bird of the Year Contest to decide which bird will be Crowned Bird of the Century. The Campaign manager of Pūteketeke, John Oliver has announced it. By Conducting this Contest, New Zealand is Promoting Birds that are not So Commonly looked upon. John Oliver has announced the New Bird named pūteketeke in his show ‘Last Week Tonight with Oliver”. He himself Voted for that Bird so that People can Vote for it and make the Bird of the Century.

You may know of the Australasian crested grebe by the unusual way they carry their young – on their back when they are swimming. They forage within high country lakes, particularly shallow lakes with fringes of vegetation. Watch out for their floating nests, which they anchor to the side of the lake.
